Marvel released a black and white image of the upcoming "Spider-Ham" variant cover. Just for fun this afternoon, I whipped off a colour version and superimposed it onto the variant cover background.
Click the image on the right for a larger version. Keep in mind this was done at 72 dpi, and took less than an hour! (If you look closely, you can probably see a lot of colouring outside the lines! ;)
Drawn by Marvelous Mike Wieringo
Inked by Kaptivating Karl Kesel
Coloured for fun by your Friendly Neighbourhood Yours Truly.

Linked over from your Newsarama post to check out your "un-official" coloring job...all I can say is: a very stunned 'Wow'. I wondered if the more overtly cartoony Spider-Ham would be able to stack up with the other variants, but your coloring made me a believer. Hopefully the official cover will be as impressive as yours. Great work, sir.
Have you colored any of Adam Hughes' stuff, by any chance?
Hughes! I wish!
Thanks for the compliments., The colouring job would be better if i was working on higher resolution images (and if I wasn't so darned rusty!)
I recently was part of a great team of guys who coloured some Conan stuff for Dark Horse however. Check it out if you have the dollars to spend!

yeah, pretty cool inking, man!
Found this on Newsarama... Great stuff!! It's awesome to see it colored. :)
Cool stuff, man! I've linked this to another board (IMWAN - Iron Man With A Nose, more or less) of comic fans, so you should be getting more hits on it :)
It is interesting to see how it is 'almost' covering up the Amazing Bag-Man behind him :)
I've also taken a look at the final 'real' version - it is surprisingly similar to yours!
Ya know, you should post your re-colouring of the Secret Wars poster up here as well!!!!
Holy krulder. Nice work meng. Especially on low-res source. Your link to the bw is bust... can you provide a fixed link?
Unfortunately, the black and white image is nowhere to be found! They've replaced it with the official colour version.
LOVE the colour job!
